Savor The Season Garden Party flyer

Savor The Season Garden Party flyer for event in Alexandria tomorrow, October 4th, 2018, Annual Savor the Season Garden Party benefiting the Food Bank of Cenla’s Good Food Project! The fundraiser will take place October 4th, 6:30pm

I’m forwarding another interesting events list from Dr. Charles Allen:

Just a reminder that there is an event in Alexandria tomorrow Oct 4 see attached and Friday Oct 5 in Nacogdoches, Texas 300 years of plants on the move in Texas

Saturday Oct 6 finds four events including a butterfly count at Allen Acres, plant id class at Allen Acres, rare plant sale in Nacogdoches, Texas and bioblitz in Columbia.  Probably more that I am not aware of.  Check out the attached word file events, lana or just read on below.

Just a note that Allen Acres has become a destination for several Master Naturalist, Master Gardener, photography, and other groups and individuals from Louisiana, other states, and other countries (recently Germany, Belgium, New Zealand).  The plant tours and the arthropod availability with ten sheets and mercury vapor lights make Allen Acres quite appealing.  Lots of people have enjoyed and photographed many many moths and other insects this year.  The moth count stands at 727 species and plant number is more than 500 on Allen Acres.  When you add in the nearby National Forest and other public lands, the number of available to see and study plant species jumps to more than 900.
