At about 3 inches long from tail to beak, bird and macrophotography combine when you seek a closeup shot of a Ruby Throated Hummingbird at the feeder.  Nectar is their high energy food, but they also eat small insects and spiders.  These amazing creatures are related to Swifts and have the fastest wingbeats of any bird. They build moss nests for their eggs, which are about the size of a baked bean!
