Ladybird populations are thought to have been hard-hit by poor weather last Summer. Can you keep an eye out for them this Summer and make a note of your sightings as part of the UK Ladybird Survey?   The digital revolution can help here, as public reports can come in from all over the UK and help rapidly build researchers’ view of ‘The Big Picture’.

The Ladybird Survey has a dedicated website with interesting information about Ladybirds (Family Coccinellidae), their lifestyle, anatomy, life cycle, enemies, useful downloadable Identification Guide and tips on survey and recording techniques.

There’s also a mobile app available that promises to make on the spot reporting more accessible, see the preview of I record Ladybirds app at iTunes shop.
